Senior guard Aaron Davis scored 21 points and collected a career-high nine rebounds in a 63-60 victory over CAA rival Drexel University on Saturday.

The fourth-year player shot with pinpoint accuracy throughout the game, converting 6-of-8 shots from the floor, including a perfect 4-of-4 from the three-point range and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Davis nailed two free throws in the closing seconds of the game to give the Huskies (9-6, 5-2 CAA) the winning margin.

“I haven’t been shooting as well this year,” Davis said. “I was doing fine in the preseason, but haven’t been doing much since. Coach said to be a little more aggressive and told me to get into the gym and work on my jump shot.”

The victory moves the Huskies into fourth place in the CAA and, according to Davis, The Northeastern News Player of the Week, should only be the start of a Husky run to the top of the standings.

“We’re starting to get used to playing here, it’s a completely different conference than the America East. You can’t take any night off, you have to bring your A-game every night.”
