Best time on campus: Springfest Week

It looks like students wanted their NEU.

Springfest week was voted Best Time on Campus for the second consecutive year.

This year’s MTV-themed week titled “I Want my NEU”, largely sponsored by the Council for University Programs (CUP), included fashion events, a karaoke night, and the successful concert headlining Dashboard Confessional.

Students praised this year’s Springfest week for its variety of happenings. Events like NEUnplugged featuring the bands Steel Train and Augustana, and Yo! NEU Raps with the group The Sugarhill Gang gave this Springfest a old school vibe.

The varied lineup for the grand finale concert, which consisted of The Violent Femmes, Mix Master Mike, Jurassic 5 and Dashboard Confessional, also went over well with the student body.

In addition, Singled Out and Say What?! Karaoke, hosted by “celebrities” like Randy from the “Real World San Diego” and Landon from the “Real World Philadelphia” were popular events.

Also Northeastern dropout Damien Fahey visited campus to give a speech on his life as an MTV host.

The cost for this week of fun-filled events? A mere $158,000.
