New log-in procedure for campus computers Beginning July 18, students and staff will have to log into computer kiosks in Northeastern buildings to use them, according to Information Services. The log-in will be the same as students’ myNEU username and password, and faculty and staff will be able to use their NUnet accounts. Director of Public Safety D. Joseph Griffin said the new rules are intended to keep high school students and others who aren’t part of the university community from using them. “We’ve had problems with young kids coming on campus and using those, at times to the detriment of our own students,” Griffin said. “We’ve had problems with pornography on them as well.” The rules will mainly apply to the computers in Ryder and Shillman Halls.

SGA e-board prepares for change of the guard The conclusion of the Summer I semester will mark a new rotation of elected officials in the Student Government Association’s (SGA) executive board. Rogan O’Handley, who served as vice president for student services during the 2005-06 academic year, is set to become president, having won the April election by a 37-20 vote, with one vote of “no confidence,” and two write-in votes for the former president Bill Durkin. Outgoing president Ashley Adams said her tenure in office was “a really great experience,” adding, “I’m really excited to spend my last year as a regular student and check out some of the other student groups on campus.” Filling out the rest of the e-board are Senator George Gottschalk IV, who will serve as executive vice president for student affairs, MJ Paradiso as vice president for academic affairs, Christopher Kelley as vice president for financial affairs, Krystal Beaulieu as vice president for administration and public relations and Susan Dye as vice president for student services.
