SGA executive VP steps down

Student Government Association Executive Vice President for Student Affairs George Gottschalk IV resigned from his position at Senate yesterday, saying it has become unaffordable for him to attend Northeastern and hold office without an opportunity for gainful employment.

“Pouring my soul into this office, while trying to maintain an acceptable GPA and finance my entire education through side jobs and a few loans has been extremely difficult this term with only one class and a summer workload, and it is simply going to be impossible for me to do so when the fall arrives and brings with it the full pace of this organization,” Gottschalk said at the meeting.

An emergency Joint Senate session was called for next Tuesday to fill the position, with nominations being accepted until Monday at noon, said Vice President for Administration and Public Relations Krystal Beaulieu.

The results of that election will be reported in The News next week.
