Commentary: Student was portrayed tastefully, accurately

While walking back from the gym Monday afternoon, I got a call from a friend from my high school, Junipero Serra High School, calling to tell me the news about Brian Evans, a fellow Serra Padre. I was unaware of his untimely death and shocked to hear the news.

I later came across the article in the paper and really appreciate the comments and the article itself, as it really captures who Brian was and how he will be remembered. As a Padre myself, graduating a year after he did, I knew of him and would occasionally say hello to him in the halls of our high school.

When I first arrived in Boston my freshman year, I was unaware he was also a student at Northeastern. When I saw him on campus he welcomed me and told me if I ever needed anything to let him know. We didn’t talk much but we would often cross paths and stop to see how each other was doing. He was a great person and friend. So I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you for remembering him for who he was, and the article really captures that. He will be missed.
