Volleyball: Batura’s versatility leads NU

The Northeastern volleyball team split a pair of matches against Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponents this weekend at Solomon Court. The Huskies dominated George Mason Friday to extend a 5-1 winning streak, but fell to James Madison in a hard-fought match Sunday.

Junior outside hitter Kira Batura had double-doubles in both matches, notching one against George Mason after the first two games and was one kill shy of a double-double in game two alone.

“That’s extremely rare,” said head coach Ken Nichols. “She’s really coming into her own. We knew everything that Kira was going to offer us years ago when we recruited her.
