Women’s Soccer: Palmquist named Rookie of the Year

By Jason Kornwitz

Despite a first-round playoff loss to Old Dominion, Northeastern out-performed preseason expectations, amassing a 9-6-4 record. They finished fifth in the regular season standings in its second year in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), eclipsing its three wins in 2005.

Three Huskies received All-CAA honors.

Freshman midfielder Sophia Palmquist was named CAA Rookie of the Year, All-CAA First Teamer and to the All-CAA Rookie Team. Palmquist led the team with four assists and was tied for second on the club with four goals and 12 points.

During the regular season, Palmquist was named CAA Rookie of the Week Sept. 25.
