Springfest 2007: Hip-hop evolution

RJD2’s career took off in 1998 when he became the DJ and producer for the rap group, Megahertz. This exposure led to a record deal with Bobbito Garcia, a DJ and writer from New York, on his label Fondle Em Records. His work with the band earned them a mention in Vibe magazine’s special edition issue “History of Hip-Hop.” He produced a “mixed CD” in 2001 titled Your Face or Your Kneecaps, according to allmusic.com. In 2001 his song “Silver Fox” was featured on the Def Jux Presents
