Field Hockey: 10 Huskies honored by NFHCA

Ten members of the Northeastern field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’ (NFHCA) Collegiate Academic Squad, the NFHCA recently announced.
Senior back Jill Wilkes, junior midfielder Montana Hewlett,’ sophomore midfielder Pam Aldridge, sophomore back Anne-Reike Stuhlmann, sophomore keeper Sam Sewell, freshman forwards Annie Clayman, Beth Cobby, and Sam Roach, freshman midfielder Kaela Barker, and’ redshirt freshman back Katrina Murray were all’ named to to the team.
Wilkes was a key defensive cog for the Huskies last season and also recorded the first points of her career, finishing the season with four goals and four assists as a co-captain.
Hewlett started 18 games for NU, while Aldridge was the Huskies’ top offensive threat, finishing the season with a team-best 10 goals to go along with three assists. Both were named to the Academic Squad in 2007.
Stuhlmann started 20 games and led the team with nine assists, while Sewell appeared in three games with one start. Both made the squad in 2007 as well.
Clayman and Cobby combined’ to play in 39 games in their rookie campaigns, while Roach redshirted the 2008 season.
Barker was honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, finishing with three goals and three assists.
Murray appeared in two games for the Huskies.
In order to make the squad, players had to achieve a cumulative 3.3 GPA through the fall semester.
