Students take first place in economics competition
‘ ‘ A team of undergraduate business administration students took first place in the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) International Case Competition last week, according to a Northeastern press release. The winning team of Northeastern students included Matthew Eaton, Brian Lindebaum, Cory Renzella and Claire Ryan. They competed against 11 top international business schools, including the London School of Economics, New York University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and SSE.

Delta Zeta to hold volleyball benefit Saturday
Spikes for Tykes, an annual volleyball game benefit, will be held Saturday, March 21’ from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Centennial Commons, according to an e-mail from philanthropy chair of the Xi Upsilon chapter of the Delta Zeta sorority Kristen Echanique. The event will benefit The Painted Turtle camp, which provides activities for terminally ill children in California. There will be free food, music and prizes, and is hosted by Delta Zeta Sorority and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. It costs $5 a person to play and the maximum number of people to a team is five. There will be pre-registration tables in the afternoon in the ground floor of Curry Student Center the Tuesday, Thursday and Friday before the event. The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, March 29.

Author and cook Suzanne Pirett coming to campus
A free cooking demonstration and book signing with author Suzanne Pirett, who wrote ‘The Pleasure is all Mine:’ Selfish Food for Modern Life,’ will be held Wednesday at noon in the Xhibition Kitchen. Pirret is a Harvard-trained actor, an award-winning voiceover artist and a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in both Paris and London. Her book features 100 simple recipes including steak au poivre with frites, three-cheese ravioli, coconut fish curry with homemade naan bread and wild blueberry free-form tart. The cost of admission is one meal from your meal plan, Profiler Plan, Husky or Dining Dollars and includes all you can eat lunch from the dining room and the demonstration.
