The junior netminder, who chose to skip his senior season and signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins last week, was named Hockey East ITECH Goalie of the Month for March, the league announced Tuesday. Thiessen posted a 3-4 record with a 2.21 goals against average in seven March games, including five playoff games. It was his fourth Hockey East monthly honor this season. A Hobey Hat Trick Finalist, Thiessen will be at the Frozen Four in Washington D.C. this Friday along with Boston University’s Colin Wilson and Matt Gilroy. The winner of the award will be announced at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
