Pumped for the weekend? The 730 Tavern, Kitchen & Patio in Cambridge is having an unforgettable night of dancing to all sorts of music. Take the #1 bus from the Massachusetts Avenue stop and get off at Bigelow Street, then walk to the tavern. Dance to the upbeat rhythm and conga drums of the Caribbean and South America, the blues riffs of Chicago, the chords of Japanese disco and so much more. While there’s not enough snow on the ground to have a snowball fight, you can go to the Resident Student Association’s semiformal dance, Snowball, and enjoy wintertime from the great indoors. Take the OrangeLine from Ruggles all the way to Oak Grove, and you’re there. Tickets will be on sale for $13 until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25th, and you can pick them up at the following times at the Ell Hall Box Office: Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday Jan. 25 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Boston, $13

If you want to listen to some great music while supporting a good cause, head over to AfterHours for the Harmonies of Health benefit concert, hosted by NU Barkada, our Filipino student association. This year, they are raising funds for Roots of Health, which provides reproductive health information and services to women and girls in Palawan, Philippines. Many artists and musicians from Northeastern and the Greater Boston area will feature their talents, so you won’t want to miss it. 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Boston; $5 suggested donation

ImprovBoston in Cambridge will have a stand-up comedy show this Sunday called “The People’s Show” that will definitely make your sides ache from laughter. A comic-in-residence will host a night of stand-up alongside 10 other comedians. Get on the #1 bus from the Massachusetts Avenue stop, then get off at the Prospect Street stop. After that, you’re only a short walk away from a great night of fun and comedy with your friends. 9:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; Cambridge; $10 suggested fee

If you feel that you haven’t been able to connect with yourself as much lately, Yogaworks Back Bay is now hosting discounted Monday slow flow yoga sessions. Slow flow yoga sessions emphasize breathing slowly and focusing on one’s balance.  Start from the Green Line Northeastern stop and take it to Arlington. This class is designed for yogis of all types, and will focus on building strength while connecting to one’s breath and sense of ease. 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Boston; $5

Think you’re S-M-R-T? Take a group of friends to Simpson’s Trivia Night at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville. Take the Orange line from Ruggles to Sullivan Square, then take the #90 bus to the Highland Avenue at Central Street stop for a free night of trivia about the Simpsons! Groups can be up to six people. Between rounds, you can also bid on items that allude to popular references, such as a Welcome Thrillo doormat. 7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; Somerville; Free

Have a yen for poetry? The Boston Poetry Slam will host a poetry slam night at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge. Take the #1 bus from Huntington Avenue to the Massachusetts Avenue at Bigelow Street stop. This is the preliminary round for a national poetry slam competition, so you don’t want to miss this night of poets of all ages and professions showing off their original poetry. Ten poets, many of them college or graduate students, will be competing. The show is 18+, so be sure to bring an ID. 7:15 p.m. – 12 a.m,; Cambridge; $5
