“We all know it has been a very difficult season,” head coach Chris Gbandi said. “But I think one win can change all that. You get a win in conference and all of a sudden morale is very high. We still have a chance to make it into the conference tournament, and right now that is our goal.”

The Huskies will look to bounce back with two road conference games this week, with matches against Hofstra and Drexel looming. Despite the strong effort from the Huskies in their recent games, they will look for some tangible results.

In front of a record-breaking crowd of 2,017 people at Parsons Field Saturday night, junior defender Martin Nygaard sent his 108th minute penalty kick off the post and into the back of the net, securing a historic victory for Northeastern University (NU) men’s soccer against No. 12 University of Massachusetts Lowell.

The Northeastern men’s soccer team won their first conference game of the season in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) at home against Drexel on Saturday, snapping a three-game losing streak, before losing to the University of New Hampshire (UNH) on Wednesday. The Huskies’ record is now 2-5 after splitting their last two games.
