“Songs for Syria” raises funds for refugees

Not only had this audience donated almost $80,000 to a humanitarian cause, but they had also been treated to a stirring Middle Eastern musical medley courtesy of two outstanding bands. The final ovation was also the longest, capturing in a single frame the success of the Boston “Songs for Syria” Concert on Sunday, Nov. 13.

That’s not to say that religious values can’t be a good thing. I went to a Catholic school myself, and although I disagree with many of the things I was taught, there were undoubtedly positive values to be learned.

The column maintains that the general criticism in regards to the Winter Olympics being held in Russia is due to the Cold War mentality of baby boomers, as it suggests that these individuals are “stuck between Stalin and the Cold War.”
